What you'll do
"Lomtadzes’ Cellar Velistsikhe" is located in the village of Velistsikhe, Gurjaani district. The cellar that houses 24 large wine jars was built in the early 20th century, and the wine pressing building, decorated with brick ornaments, dates back to 1900-1905. In "Lomtadzes’ Cellar" wine lovers are also offered bottled wines from BioSafarevi and Rkatsiteli. Making wine in the traditional Kakhetian method in this cellar continues for more than a century, and this fact makes the cellar unique. Wine tasting is also distinctive, involving several family members. The guest who moves from the cellar to the Kakhetian table is met by the head of the family who is a splendid tamada and, along with tasting the wine, will tell you the story of Georgia with poetry. Along with poetry, Georgian music will also be available here. The housewife of the family will host you if you want to participate in a Kakhetian cuisine master class.
