Guruli Marani
Tour Hosted By Guruli Marani
What you'll do
In the village of Shemokmedi, on the way to Gomi Mountain, you will clap eyes on a Gurian ethnographic cellar, which fully corresponds to the typical life of the Gurians. In the cellar you will find qvevris (earthenware vessels used for fermentation and storage of wine), a lime grape crusher, a Gurian gideli (wicker basket for collecting grapes), antiques, a fireplace and a list of 1901 wedding tables on the wall, which belong to the aristocrats of that time. The whole Guria is gathered in one yard and the hosts offer the guests a tasting of Chkhaveri and a master class of Gurian dishes. Optionally, you will also be offered a tour of the beautiful Gomi Mountain, located 25 kilometers away from the cellar.
